Coffee Date

If we were sitting down, having a cup of coffee…

…Chances are we would be having coffee at my house.  I love my coffee machine, and would show you it with pride (it is one of the single best investments in household appliances that I have ever made, with my Vitamix running a close second).

Currently in my coffee machine: Bob Marley coffee from my friend Zoe!

…I’d lament (only a little bit) that blogging just hasn’t been happening for me lately.  It is not that I don’t have a lot of things I want to write about.  And it is not that I have lost my writing mojo.  It is just that… Well, other things have taken priority and work has been flat out busy.

…Without going into the details, I’d look you square in the eye and say that life can be stressful, even for the littlest people we know.  And then I would tell you that I believe that miracles can happen.

…You’d notice that I am in good shape and in a good place physically and mentally – I’d let you know that I feel STRONG.  Probably the strongest and fittest I have ever felt. Like ever. Whole entire life ever. #fact

…I’d laugh when I recalled how I squirted myself with Febreze last week before leaving a Korean BBQ joint in Seoul, to “get the smell out” – and how it reminded me of a scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding so much that I examined the bottle to see if it was Windex!

…I’d confess that I am hopelessly lost in the Divergent book series and am loving the tv series The Walking Dead. And I’ve pre-ordered the Stephen King’s The Stand Part 2.  You would congratulate me on being a connoisseur of fine trash!

…I’d share how I am planning to go do an elimination “no sugar no grain” type of eating plan in October, including no dairy, partly because I am curious and partly to see if we can find out what is triggering DH’s stomach flare ups. You might think that we are a bit crazy – you may be right. And I’d share with you that I am wondering if dairy could be the root cause for DH’s bad stomach, and wheat not an issue, and how ironic I find this ESPECIALLY since we have now been wheat free at home for nearly 18 months!

…I’d have to restrain myself from talking too much about triathlon, and how EXCITED I am to race on Sunday at The London Triathlon! To avenge last year’s hypothermic DNF. To see how my feelings of fitness translate into racing. To see what I can do on the swim. To test how my knee handles the run. To ride my bike through the Limehouse Link tunnel descending as fast as I can, feeling the wind rush past me, on a road that is normally off limits to cyclists.  You’d see just how super EXCITED and to ready race I am!

…And then I’d promise to be better and to make the time to meet up more often. Because I’ve missed hanging out.
