The Stars in My Life

I’ve often said that friendships are the stars in my life. Shared memories their light.

Some friends may be fleeting, in our life for a moment. Some may be around for years and years, our suns. But no matter if fleeting or forever, the memories… Those shared memories stay with us, forming our own personal constellations, the beauty and light we can see, even on the darkest of nights.

Sometimes we choose to put out the light. Some relationships must end.

Sometimes illness and accident take away the light.

And sometimes our friends choose to extinguish their own light. Driven by a pain and suffering that I cannot begin to comprehend.

Stars come… And stars go…

I always appreciate the light friendships give – no matter the duration or the reason for the star ceasing to shine.

Thank you to all of my friends for being my light, my constellations, my galaxy. My constant companions, especially when it’s dark.
